So I've been working on the DKSY project for a while now. It is nearing completion but I've only really documented it in vlog style videos on MKME Lab. I thought I'd better put a thread somewhere in advance so people can join the project and ask questions or come along for the ride.
The original design was found here:

I have forked their Git repo as I have been updating the files from their design:

I have tried to capture the parts and BOM exactly so others can recreate it

More updates on the Apollo AGC DSKY in this video. I am planning a video showing the custom circuit board design and construction then a final video someday showing the entire project from start to finish.

In this video I test the Nextion display panel we will use to simulate the DSKY EL display. Ben Krasnow did a true replica EL display but for ours we will just use this TFT and make do. It looks pretty amazing though

Re: Apollo AGC DSKY Raspberry Pi Powered Replica
In this update we program the Raspberry Pi 4 with Raspbian OS and remote access. It gets installed in the DSKY 3D printed enclosure and we get the PCBs for the LED lights on the front of the panel. Later we will install the Apollo simulator software on the Pi and get some displays working together with the DSKY keyboard. It is finally coming together nicely!
So far mine is coming along well I think. Couple photos
I have redesigned the LED indicator mount/tub to as well fit my custom PCB

Forgot to post a pic of the keyboard build. Still have to work on the wiring more to finish the ends
Overall coming together nicely
V1 of the PCBs arrived and got assembled as seen in the vlog video (will post when live) but I had to order a new version as the routing on these was incomplete Overall coming together nicely

Re: Apollo AGC DSKY Raspberry Pi Powered Replica
Ive been slacking on updates here but a lot has happened. Initial test fit of the PCB went fine but needed a V2
V2's arrived from PCBway and were assembled and reflowed (full videos coming)
They fit in the DSKY perfectly!
I soldered up an Arduino NANO for the display and LED interfaces as well as a Pro Micro for the keyboard interface
Wires were run
And a legend was made of paper and covered in an acetate sheet for the LED's t shine through

I added all the wiring for the NANO Pretty happy with this:
I'm pretty happy with the diffusion and look. They are perfect. I added all the wiring for the NANO Pretty happy with this:
