Water Quality Sensors

Post by Hoppingmadman »

I have been thinking of an low cost water quality sensors, so that it is affordable for small communities or anyone that wishes to check the quality of water. I was think of using something like an arduino mini pro at the core, with an small lcd screen with the water sensor.

I haven't seen the quality sensors before. I'm intrigued!

I've been thinking about this. More and more people are making their own simple, low budget spectrometers. Some are even as simple as a light, and a 3d printed piece that clips onto a phone with an app running and it gives you a rough estimation on quality. I feel this is a good thing to look into.
I make things, I break things, and cause all around chaos.

I do like the idea Glytch. But, here is my thoughts. The communities that would need this lots of them don't have phones. From my expenses from living here in Mexico is that lots of smaller communities that would use something like this don't have access to the most basic technology. But I really do like you idea, for something here in the DF where I live something like that would be grate, as most states here you can't drink water from the tap, with our boiling it first and add chemicals to make it safe to drink.
